In the Beginning

On May 9, 2009 Dave and Janie Hail went to hear the "10 Tenors" at the Performing Arts Center in downtown Tulsa. At the conclusion of the concert, as they made their way to the car, Dave said these words, "If God will show me how to do it, I want to put that sound on the platforms of churches all across America." And from that statement the seeds of SEVEN were planted.

A few weeks later Dave called his good friend Dave Grothe and shared his vision, and he still talks about the response he received. Dave Grothe said "Dave don't give up on that vision. It may take you a while, but don't give up on it. This is exciting. I pray that God will show you exactly what to do and how to do it. "From that conversation SEVEN began to move from a seed to A Might Sound.

On October 16, 2009 Dave met with Kelly Ford at the Panera bread on 41st St. in Tulsa. It was as though they had known each other for years and the molding of SEVEN began to take shape.

Within a short time from that meeting an invitation was mailed to professional states all across America. Dave saw each response breathing life into the Mighty Sound as he kept hearing it in his head even before the members of SEVEN were chosen.

The auditions were scheduled and preparations were made for a group of some of the finest musicians in the country to meet in Tulsa where Seven men of good report would be chosen to take the MIGHTY SOUND of God's love to every open door. However, the Oklahoma weather made it impossible for those February 4, 2010 auditions to take place. Planes were grounded and snow was falling at a record rate.

The date was rescheduled for March. The auditions took place at First United Methodist Church and 5 of the SEVEN members were selected, and SEVEN took the next steps on the journey to becoming the MIGHTY SOUND.

On June 4, 2011 the 7 members who had been chosen to make up the mighty sounds of SEVEN met Dave and Janie for the first time in the parking lot of Ocean Way Studio in Nashville, Tennessee. Again it was as though they had known each other for years. Rehearsal began immediately following those introductions in preparation for recording the first CD.

Within a few days, another date was scheduled for the recording of what is now known as, SEVEN A Mighty Sound. Somewhere this week those same SEVEN men of good report are living out their dreams as they continue to share the Mighty Sound of God's love around the world.
